Katherine Shakespeare, raised in Vernal, Utah, graduated in 2002 from High School. A Presidential Scholar, she entered Utah State
University that autumn as an English major, with an emphasis in Literary
Studies. It took her a year to stumble serendipitously into Dr. Mark Latin 1010 course and in 2005 she changed her major to
Interdisciplinary Studies, in order to combine her study of literature
with Latin, Greek, and classical history. While an Aggie, Katherine
supplemented her four-year term as the Honors Program's chief student
with work as an America Reads tutor at Adams Elementary, an
