Tim O'Connor opened Pacific Espresso in 1980, specializing in espresso equipment repair and drink preparation training. He continued to grow his business with a focus on increasing the quality of espresso in the U.S. In 1983 he formed an alliance with and developed brand recognition for on the Central California Coast. Additionally, he started introducing La espresso machines, then a tiny company in Florence, Italy that built machines that addressed the different temperature needs of espresso brewing and milk steaming.
