Eddie Lanz was born in Barcelona, Venezuela. He is the youngest in the family, and he has two brothers. Eddie has always been interested in cultures and languages. He also likes to play soccer and learn about computers. He moved to Miami, Florida in 2007, where he lived for approximately six months. In the same year, he moved to Houston, Texas where he has lived ever since. While he was young, he started learning languages. He is fluent in Spanish, Italian and English. He is still improving his language skills in French, Portuguese and American Sign Language. In 2008, he had the opportunity to become part of the great LSC-CyFair Languages Labs team as a Lab Coordinator, where he helps students and faculty with all their language technology needs. Today he is also a staff member of the TLC labs which, in addition to the language labs, also includes general instructional technology support for users from all disciplines on campus.Eddie Lanz is currently focusing on his International Business degree and his Associate in ASL interpreting at Lone Star College.Shawn Lin was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and migrated to the United States at the age of 15. Prior to moving to Houston, Shawn studied at Michigan State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Industry Management. Post graduation, he worked for 7-Eleven Inc. as a Field Consultant for 3 years. Shawn returned to school at Northern Illinois University and completed his Master of Science in Management Information Systems in 2009. While in school, he also worked for McDonalds’ as an Information Technology Supply intern. He then moved to Houston upon the completion of his internship with McDonalds’ Inc. Recently, Shawn resigned as a Technical Support Engineer at Idera Inc. He plans to return to school and pursuits another degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Houston in the near future. Shawn is fluent in both English and Chinese Mandarin.
